Kennith "Kilo" Watts, Jr. joins Eva Percussion as Sound Designer and Audio Engineer, bringing a career that spans championship-level marching arts, professional theatre, and national touring audio.
Kennith currently serves as System Designer and Audio Caption Head for the Boston Crusaders Drum & Bugle Corps. He joined the corps' audio team in 2022 as a second A1 percussion operator and systems analyst, stepped into the Lead Engineer chair in 2023, and now leads the caption. The corps earned a silver medal in 2024 and its first gold medal in 2025, capping their 85th anniversary season.
Away from the marching field, Kennith is Assistant Technical Director - Audio Specialist at North Carolina State University, where he leads audio for Stewart Theatre and University Theatre Event Operations across more than 200 operating days a year. Before Raleigh, he was Head of Audio at CFCC's Wilson Center in Wilmington, supporting national tours and Broadway engagements, and he held membership in IATSE Local 417, where he worked as an audio department head at Live Oak Bank Pavilion, a Live Nation venue.
Kennith holds a Bachelor of Arts in General Music from the University of North Carolina Wilmington with a double concentration in Recording Technology and Trombone Performance. He remains an active trombonist, percussionist, and educator, assisting high school programs in conducting, brass, percussion, and visual.
He is excited to build something new with Eva Percussion and to give this ensemble a sound that carries their story into the future.
