Lucas is a percussionist and educator originally from Montevideo, Uruguay. A graduate of Cleveland High School, where he marched both marching and indoor percussion, Lucas brings 12 years of experience teaching in the marching arts and percussion education.

Lucas has taught front ensemble and battery for programs across the region, including West Johnston HS (2015–2026), where the program earned success at WGI Atlanta and became Open Class Concert gold medalists; Green Hope High School (2018–19); Carolina Gold (2018); and Alchemy Independent, where he served as front ensemble tech in 2019. As a performer, he was a charter member of Alchemy Independent’s open class ensemble, marching quads his first season and vibraphone in the front ensemble his second.

He currently directs percussion at Corinth Holders HS and at Green Level HS, where he has led the program since its opening in 2019. Lucas has also been part of Eva Independent since its inaugural year with the winds group, and is excited to help launch the organization’s first percussion ensemble.
