Sara Shields is a color guard instructor, choreographer, and consultant based in Raleigh, NC. She has directed and choreographed for multiple ensembles in the MCCGA, WGPO, AMAA, HWAA, AIA North, AIA South, CWEA, and WGI circuits, earning several circuit championship medals, including leading Enloe High School to the SRA1 2024 Gold Medal. Sara currently serves on the Board of Directors for Eva Independent, where she was also a visual instructor and administrative staff member for the 2023 WGI IA Winds Gold Medalist and 2024 Silver Medalist ensembles.
Sara’s performance background includes four seasons of Independent A winter guard, two seasons with The Colts Drum and Bugle Corps Color Guard, and two seasons with Northwest Independent World. While flag is her favorite piece of equipment, she loves how dance continues to shape the activity. In addition to her extensive guard experience, Sara has taught marching visuals for bands, winds and percussion ensembles across the country and regularly choreographs for BOA and WGI competitors nationwide. When she’s not surrounded by spinning equipment, Sara enjoys puzzles, board games, and spending time with her dog Charcoal.
